Computer Labs
Technology plays a very important part in the educational process at LVA. It is integrated into the curriculum wherever it is applicable. We have three sets of mobile labs. These labs consist of twenty-five laptop computers each that are connected to the network wirelessly. Labs allow teachers to bring the computers right to the desks of the individual students. Rather than having to move to a computer lab that can only be used by one class at a time, the students can continue their learning right in the classroom where all the other resources are already available.

Classroom Connectivity
Classrooms are also all connected through closed-circuit television (CCTV), which airs our morning announcements and school productions. This wonderful new tool helps us to develop the students’ communication skills through practical applications. Each of the televisions is also equipped with an AVerKey, which allows the teachers to use it as a giant computer monitor that also students can see.

Higher Technology
At the middle school level, the students participate in a class entitled “ Design Technology.” This class focuses not only on the technology standards for the state of Pennsylvania, but also on the connections between technology and engineering. The students develop the concept of something, design it, and then actually construct it.
