Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School is a public charter school. Our class size is limited by our charter to 25 students. In accordance with the charter school law, the following procedures must be followed for our enrollment process each year.

  • All students currently enrolled at LVA are asked to re-enroll each year. Attendance at a re-enrollment information session is required. This allows the parents/guardians to re-evaluate as to whether LVA is the right choice for their child.
  • Siblings of students who are currently enrolled at LVA and who live at the same address as the LVA sibling in Bethlehem Area or Saucon Valley School Districts receive preference and are placed in available openings.
  • The open enrollment process begins with scheduled information sessions. Attendance at an information session is required for participation in the lottery process. The sessions are an opportunity for families to learn about LVA's vision and mission, innovative IB curriculum, and expectations of students and parents.
  • After attendance at an information session, families can pre-register their child(children).
  • If there are more students interested in a grade level than there are openings available, a lottery takes place. The pool of students from BASD and SVSD is selected from first, as these districts are LVA's chartering districts. After open positions are filled, the remaining students are placed on a waiting list by grade level. The pool of students from other districts is then drawn from and those names are added to the waiting list per grade level as they are pulled.
  • As places open up during the school year, families on the waiting list are contacted.
  • LVA reserves the right to verify residency at any time during the enrollment process.
