In the case of school closings, delayed starts or early dismissals, LVA follows inclement weather decisions made
by the BethlehemAreaSchool District.
In some cases, a school district in which a student resides declares a delay but LVA has a normal start time. We allow the student to use his/her normal busing system and arrive to school late without being considered tardy. It is encouraged, however, that parents bring their child(ren) to school on time to avoid losing instructional time.
In other cases, the BethlehemAreaSchool District declares a delay or closing, differing from other area school districts. It is important to remember that the decision of BASD (and thus LVA) supersedes any and all other school districts in which the LVA student resides. In the case of a delay, school personnel will not be present at the normal starting time.
Announcements regarding school delays and closings are always posted as early as possible. This information should be available by 6:30am at the latest. LVA is generally on Channel 69 or on the following radio stations:
